Denitza Dimitrova is a soloist-arphist of the National Opera and Ballet-Sofia, Bulgaria.

With teaching from two decades of harpists from all levels -from beginners to professionals, her professional experience includes a harp teacher at the naive Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov ”-Sofia (2006-2011) and Lebanese Higher Music Conservatory-Beirut (2010-2015).

In 2004, the harpist received a master’s degree in harp from the National Academy of Music “Prof. P. Vladigerov ”-Sofia, while specializing in two years (2003-2005) under the world-renowned Prof. Elizabeth Fountain-Binosh in Nice, France. Her training in the French arf legend develops her qualifications to such an extent that her qualities are very soon appreciated in her home country as well as abroad.

Denitsa Dimitrova has been dedicated since only 25 years of teaching and working as a solo orchestra, while continuing to develop active performing activities.

Other world names that play an important role in the professional improvement of harpist are Maria Bilda (Greece/Romania), Ian Jones (United Kingdom) and Yana Boskova (Czech Republic), with whom she has the opportunity to work for a long time.

Denitza Dimitrova participates in master classes of Catherine Michel, Claudia Antonelli, Jermine Lorenzini, Anna Loro, Victor Hartobanu and many more.

Her professional career is highly marked by communicating with the titans of the world music treasure. Her heartfelt friendship is unforgettable with the legendary composer Vangelis, whose home is visited twice, having the opportunity to give him a private concert to his personal boutique harp, produced in a limited series for the most significant musical patrons.

The Harfist continually enriches with active concert activity as a soloist and chamber performer the extremely rich repertoire of the largest works composed, or arranged for the instrument, from all possible musical periods and styles.

In 2016, the harpist appeared in a repeat competition for her previous workplace at the Sofia Opera and Ballet, which again wins and at the same time creates her own private class in the harp, which she is actively developing to this day. Of the young and successful students, her own daughter, Emma Rose Katsari, is 8 years old, winning a number of international honors.

Denitza Dimitrova is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions as a soloist- harpist. Among the long list of a total of 12 prizes, the 1st Prize at the International Competition “UFAM”-Paris (2005), the 2nd prize of the “Revelation Muses 2005” competition, organized by the opera in Nice, the 2nd Award of the International Competition “Musicians of the next millennium”-Skopje (2004), laureate of the first International Competition “Vera Dulova”-Moscow (2000) and more. In 2002, Denitza Dimitrova was one of the 30 young harpists from around the world, selected through a preliminary competition to participate in the Cycle Concerts “Focus on Youth” of the 8th World Arfov Congress in Geneva. Denitza Dimitrova qualified for the semi-finals of three of the most prestigious arphic competitions in the world: La Cite des Arts (Paris), Welsh Harp Competition (Kurnovan, Wales), and in 2005 only one voice from the jury divided it from Ranking of the final (and prize) in the highest category of the Lily Laskin contest (Dovil, France).

Denitza Dimitrova is many times a guest resort at the International Festivals “Days of Music in Balchik”, “Days of Chamber Music” in Gabrovo, New Year Music Festival at the National Palace of Culture- Sofia, International Youth Festival “Crossroads”- Plovdiv and more S In 2022, the harpist toured as a soloist of the Razgrad Philharmonic Orchestra.

She played twice as a soloist under the accompaniment of the Lebanese Philharmonic.

She has shared a scene with world stars of the rank of Sonia Yoncheva, Placido Domingo, Jose Careras and others. She has participated in a number of concerts with the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra in Greece and Germany after a successful arrest competition in their staff in 2009. She was a guest harpist of the Cypriot Symphony Orchestra.

Denitza Dimitrova is a lecturer of the first and third International Summer Academy of Harp in Bulgaria, with her hours filled by more than the maximum number of students- of all ages and levels, from Bulgaria, Greece, Hong Kong, Romania, France, Belgium and others.
